Kitchener fire was ‘suspicious in nature’ say investigators

Waterloo Regional Police Service are investigating a fire at a business in Kitchener on Saturday morning that is considered suspicious.

Around 5 a.m. on the morning of May 30, emergency services responded to reports of a fire at Lancaster Street West and Ash Street. Kitchener Fire Department arrived on the scene and extinguished the blaze.

No physical injuries were reported during the event.

Investigators have since determined that the fire is “suspicious in nature,” and further details around the situation will be investigated by the Waterloo Regional Police Service’s General Investigations Unit.
