Kitchener programs hope to keep residents active this fall

The City of Kitchener is reminding its residents that registration for its fall programs will be opening on Aug. 18, at 8:30 a.m.
Residents from outside of Kitchener will have to wait until Aug. 25, to be eligible to register.
Every year Kitchener releases its list of programs and activities that will be hosted in the city. This year is no different, with events spreading across the city.
A new addition to the programs throughout Kitchener will be the RBJ Schlegel Park, which is scheduled to open late 2026. As the park continues to be prepared for its opening, Kitchener hopes it will give many residents a new place to pick up a sport, or get active in the community.
Some homeowners in Kitchener will have received a copy of “Active Kitchener.” The guide is delivered to over 65,000 homes in Kitchener, being shipped out once every season. It includes a list of the city’s hosted programs, and how you can participate. Copies can also be picked up at any City of Kitchener community centre, or viewed on Kitchener’s website.
Also, in the news release, Kitchener is encouraging older adults to look at programs in the 55+ program guide.
