Rangers take on red-hot 67’s looking for silver lining after Memorial Cup announcement

Kitchener fans will have something to cheer for on Friday night at The Aud against the Ottawa 67’s after the city missed out on hosting the 2027 Memorial Cup.

The Rangers are coming off a 3-1 win against Guelph on Tuesday and preparing to host the red-hot Ottawa 67’s, who have picked up points in each of their last 10 games, including nine wins.

The Blushirts face a tough test against a team from Ottawa that has the second-lowest goals-against, only trailing the Rangers, this season. As for goals-for, the 67’s have scored 22 more goals than Kitchener so far this year.

In spite of their win on Tuesday, Kitchener has tasted defeat against Guelph this week after losing out on their bid to host the 2027 Memorial Cup. The CHL announced on Thursday that the Royal City will host the tournament at the end of next season.

After Friday, the Rangers get Saturday off before heading to Oshawa to take on the Generals on Sunday.
