Police arrest second suspect in Cambridge ice cream theft

Waterloo Regional Police have arrested a second suspect involved in the break-and-enter of a business in Cambridge.

The initial incident happened on May 3 at a business in the area of Water Street North and Park Hill Road East. At the time police said the number of suspects involved was unknown.

Late May, police arrested a 38-year-old Cambridge man who was charged with several offences including theft under $5,000 and possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.

Police also revealed $1,600 worth of pop and ice cream were stolen from the business, and they were on the lookout for two other suspects, a 45-year-old Cambridge man and an unidentified third individual.

On Wednesday, police said they had arrested and charged a 45-year-old Cambridge man who is facing multiple charges.

Those include:

  • Disguise with intent
  • Break and enter
  • Theft under $5,000 (three counts)
  • Mischief under $5,000
  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 (three counts)
  • Fail to comply with judicial order

He was then held for a bail hearing.
