20-year-old facing charges after striking cyclist in Kitchener

Waterloo Regional Police have laid charges after an 86-year-old cyclist was struck by a vehicle in Kitchener.

It happened just after 3 p.m. Wednesday afternoon at the Homer Watson Boulevard and Block Line Road roundabout.

According to police, the cyclist was taken to a local hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries.

The driver of the vehicle has now been identified as a 20-year-old man from Kitchener.

They are facing charges that include, careless driving causing bodily harm and failure to yield to a pedestrian.
