G2 driver charged with stunt driving on Hwy. 401

An 18-year-old with just their G2 driver’s licence won’t be passing a driving test anytime soon.

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) said the young driver from London was going 169 km/hr on the eastbound lanes of Highway 401 near County Road 22, east of Woodstock.

They are now facing a stunt driving charge, with a license suspension in place for 30 days and their vehicle impounded for two weeks.

“At 169 km/h, there’s little room for error,” said OPP. “Slow down. No destination is worth risking lives.”

Police posted about the incident on Tuesday afternoon.
