Three suspects at large after downtown Kitchener shooting, one man seriously hurt

A reported shooting in downtown Kitchener has one man in hospital in critical condition, and three suspects on the loose.
Waterloo regional police were called Sunday morning around 2:10 a.m. to reports of gunshots in the Goudies Lane and Queen Street North area of Kitchener.
One man, a 21-year-old, was taken to an out-of-region hospital with serious injuries. The latest update from police Monday morning had him listed in critical condition.
“Our major crime team is investigating the incident, and we are appealing to the public for any witnesses to come forward and provide information to our investigators (519-570-9777),” said police.
The suspects are said to be all Black men, last seen driving away in potentially a white Mazda.
Officials noted as the investigation continued, there would be a police presence in the downtown core.
They are calling the shooting a targeted incident.
