Shooting incident in Kitchener now under investigation

On July 31, around 8:20 p.m., Waterloo Regional Police responded to reports of gunshots in the Duke St. East and Scott St. area.

Through an ongoing investigation, police believe there was a confrontation involving several people before shots were fired.

Police say the people involved fled the area before officials arrived.

No physical injuries have been reported as a result of this incident.

Waterloo Regional Police say they believe this was a targeted incident.

The investigation remains ongoing by WRPS’ General Investigations Unit.

Police are seeking witnesses and anyone who may have dash camera, security camera, or cellphone footage of the area between 8 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.
