11 speeding charges in three hours: WRPS on Hespeler Road enforcement

By CityNews Kitchener Staff

The Waterloo Regional Police Service (WRPS) is working to crack down on speeding on Hespeler Road in Cambridge.

Officers were out conducting a traffic enforcement initiative on Monday night.

Police issued 11 speeding charges within three hours, from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m.

“Notably, four drivers were charged with stunt driving after being recorded travelling at speeds of up to 127 km/h in a posted 60 km/h zone,” said WRPS in a social media post.

The four alleged stunt drivers were handed 30-day licence suspensions and had their vehicles impounded for 14 days.

Police said excessive speeding and aggressive driving behaviours put all road users at risk. They’re urging motorists to drive responsibly and obey speed limits.
