Brampton driver charged in hit-and-run near Fairview Park Mall

A man from Brampton is facing charges, after a crash Sunday that saw one person sent to hospital.

Sunday around 12:15 p.m., police were called to Wilson Avenue and Fairway Road South, right near Kitchener’s Fairview Park Mall.

Multiple callers to police reported a motorist driving away from a collision they were involved in.

While fleeing, that driver also reportedly hit another person.

“Through the investigation, officers determined that the driver of a vehicle fled the scene after the collision and struck a victim with the vehicle while leaving the area,” read a release from police.

Police said the victim was sent to hospital. Their injuries are described as non-life-threatening.

A 26-year-old man from Brampton has since been arrested.

The investigation is ongoing.
