Two in hospital following Waterloo stabbing; police search for suspect

Two people are in hospital and police are continuing to search for a suspect after a weekend stabbing in Waterloo.

Waterloo Regional Police said the stabbing happened around 2:15 a.m. Sunday morning near King Street North and Bridgeport Road East.

Investigators believe it was a targeted attack.

A police spokesperson confirmed to 570 NewsRadio the injuries sustained by the two people were non-life-threatening.

Those victims have since been identified as a 24-year-old Cambridge man, and a 28-year-old Waterloo man.

On Sunday afternoon police said they were still searching for the suspect.

No suspect description has been made public at this time.
