Arrest made after stabbing in north Waterloo

Charges have been laid for what Waterloo Regional Police describe as a stabbing attack between two men who know each other.

It happened Tuesday, around 8 p.m., at a home near Weber Street North and Northfield Drive.

A report came in that someone had been stabbed.

Officers arrived at the scene and found an injured 54-year-old man from Waterloo.

He was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

A 30-year old man, also from Waterloo, was arrested.

Police said the charges laid against him include assault with a weapon; assault cause bodily harm; and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

They noted that he and the victim “are known to each other, and there is no concern for public safety.”
