Young driver impaired by alcohol, drugs crashes into tree: OPP

A young driver from Paris, Ontario will be in Guelph court this September, answering to charges of driving impaired while under the influence of both alcohol and drugs.

The charges stem from a crash Saturday morning that saw a driver leave the road, and crash into a tree.

Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police said it was in the area of Guelph-Eramosa Township.

“The driver received minor injuries as a result of the collision but did not require medical attention at the scene,” noted police.

“A 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.”

19-year-old Jackson Illerbrun from Paris has since been charged.
