Emergency road repairs to close portion of key Elmira, St. Jacobs corridor

The Region of Waterloo said a portion of Arthur Street South, north of the Arthur/Sawmill Road roundabout, would be closed Friday due to emergency road repairs.

The closure at the railway crossing between Scotch Line Road and Gerrat Drive will allow local access, but closed to through traffic.

The detour around that closure is significant, with motorists primarily using Northfield Drive East.

A post by the Region of Waterloo on social media only has the closure listed for one day, but noted updates could be coming.

“Thank you for your patience while the work is being completed and stay posted for any additional updates on travel impacts,” read the notice.

“Please plan ahead and allow extra time for your trip.”
