OPP stop SUV with eight children not buckled up inside

Fifteen charges have been laid after Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) said a driver didn’t have eight children buckled up properly in their SUV.
Wednesday afternoon around 3:45 p.m., OPP in Fergus stopped an SUV on St. David Street North for potentially being driven without insurance.
When the Nissan Pathfinder was pulled over, the officer counted 11 people inside, including eight children who were reportedly not wearing seatbelts.
A 31-year-old from Fergus has been charged with a long list of offences including careless driving, driving without insurance, and several charges related to a passenger under 16 not safely secured in the vehicle.
OPP remind drivers and passengers that wearing a seatbelt, “is one of the simplest and most effective ways to prevent serious injuries and save lives.”
The driver is set to appear in court in Guelph.
