Guelph man arrested after sexual assault in city park

The Guelph Police Service have arrested a 21-year-old man after a woman reported being sexually assaulted on Aug. 13.
Officials say the sexual assault happened shortly before 8 a.m. after a woman met up with the man in a city park. Police added that the woman had been communicating with the man over social media for roughly one week.
After setting up plans with the man to meet up, the woman made the trip over and met with the 21-year-old man from Guelph.
The woman told officers that they went to the park to talk, when the man sexually assaulted her. The woman was then taken to hospital for treatment.
Police arrested the man later that day, he is now being charged with:
- Sexual assault causing bodily harm
- Sexual assault
- Assault
- Forcible confinement
- Breaching probation order
