The weekend of August 15 and 16 will be a tale of two halves in terms of weather, as Saturday will see sunny skies with stormy conditions expected on Sunday.
According to Environment Canada, Saturday will see no chance of precipitation to coincide with picturesque clear skies. Some fog patches may appear briefly throughout the morning, but they are expected to subside before noon.
The afternoon will see a slow rise to the projected high of 26 degrees, with humidex maxing out for the day at 29 C. The skies will remain clear until the late hours overnight, as temperatures drop to a low of 17 C.
Sunday morning will see cloud cover roll in sometime around 3:00 a.m. Overcast skies are then expected through the early morning, until a chance of showers begins shortly after 9:00 a.m. That chance increases through the afternoon, with a risk of a thunderstorm by the mid-afternoon.
Expect higher than average wind speeds of around 20 kilometres per hour by the late afternoon. The daily high for Sunday will be 26 C, which will feel like 31 with the humidex. Temperatures will drop to an estimated low of 17 overnight into Monday, before climbing back to 26 C midday.
