Federal offender arrested in Waterloo

A federal offender known to frequent Waterloo Region, has once again been taken in by Ontario Provincial Police (OPP).

Police said Evan Haney was located by officers in Waterloo.

Haney went unlawfully at large back on June 8.

In December 2025, police had previously arrested Haney in Barrie in another case of the man disappearing.

Evan Haney, 29, is serving a two-year and three-month sentence for a long list of convictions, including break and enter, assault with a weapon, and theft under $5,000.
