Man arrested near splash pad after ‘touching himself’

Police in Guelph have arrested a man in his fifties after reports he was touching himself in an indecent way at a local splash pad.

Monday afternoon shortly after 5:00 p.m., police were told a man went to the splash pad in front of Guelph City Hall.

He then reportedly took his shirt off and sat down.

“While seated the man was observed touching himself with his hands inside his pants while looking in the direction of two parents and their young daughter,” said police.

“The girl’s father confronted the man and forced him to leave the area.”

A 51-year-old Guelph man has since been arrested and charged with committing an indecent act in public and breaching a probation order.
