Guelph man arrested after breaking into construction site

Guelph police say a man now faces several charges after breaking into a construction site on Stone Road late Wednesday night.

Shortly before midnight, police received reports that a man had been spotted on security cameras inside a fenced-in construction area at Stone Road West and Hanlon Parkway. When officers arrived, the man attempted to run away on foot, but the man was arrested shortly after.

Upon his arrest, police discovered multiple stolen items in the suspect’s possession.

The 43-year-old Guelph man is now charged with the following 4 offences:

  • Break and enter with intent
  • Disguise with intent
  • Breaching probation
  • Possessing property obtained by crime.

The arrested suspect was held for a bail hearing.
