Beloved ice cream and cafe in Kitchener announces closure

It’s the end of the road for Sweet Caroline’s Ice Cream and Cafe.
In a social media post, the Kitchener location announced the doors would close potentially as soon as Saturday.
The goodbye message to the community explained the decision to close wasn’t an easy one, and one that came with a “great deal of emotion.”
“When I first opened Sweet Caroline’s, I dreamed of creating more than just a cafe. I wanted a place where people could come together. A place that felt warm, welcoming, and a little bit like home,” read the post.
“You didn’t just become customers. You became part of our Sweet Caroline’s family.”
When asked when the business would be officially closed, Sweet Caroline’s said it could be as soon as this Saturday or “until supplies last.”
The location is holding a sale Thursday and Friday hoping to “see you in the shop one last time.”
Sweet Caroline’s moved to the Ottawa Street North location by Lackner Boulevard in July 2025.
It was previously located in Breslau off Victoria Street North.
