Impaired driver facing six charges following Wellesley collision

Waterloo Regional Police have charged a man from Kitchener with six different charges after a collision in Wellesley early Friday.

In the early morning of July 10, around 5:10 a.m., the Waterloo Regional Police Service noticed a vehicle with significant damage around the area of Kressler Rd and Erbsville Rd. 

Through an investigation, officials say that they found that the driver of a black Nissan Rogue lost control of his vehicle, left the roadway, then tried to continue driving. 

The 23-year-old man from Kitchener was arrested after the investigation. 

Police discovered that the driver had previously received a provincial driver’s license suspension and a Canada-wide driving prohibition.  

The man is being charged with: 

  • Operation While Impaired 
  • Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration 
  • Dangerous Operation 
  • Drive While Prohibited 
  • Drive While Under Suspension (two counts) 
  • Novice Driver with Blood Alcohol Concentration Above Zero 

There were no reported physical injuries, and the accused was held for a bail hearing
