No injuries have been reported after a late-night fire in a Kitchener residential neighbourhood.
It was on Tuesday night when Kitchener fire crews were called out to a vehicle fire in the driveway of a home on Coopershawk Street.
Firefighters arrived on scene to find a vehicle engulfed in flames in the driveway of a home, as the blaze was spreading to a nearby garage, causing “significant damage” to a second vehicle.
That fire was quickly brought under control by firefighters, while all occupants of the nearby home had self-evacuated before fire crews arrived.
While two vehicles did sustain damage, an inspection of the nearby areas of the home showed the blaze did not extend to the structure. Some smoke from the fire had entered the home, but it was cleared out.
No injuries were reported as a result of the fire, while the cost of damage to both vehicles and the home is estimated to be around $75,000.
