Kitchener porch destroyed by fire

No one was hurt after house fire in Kitchener early Sunday.

Kitchener Fire crews were called to a home on Ahrens Street West, not too far from Victoria Street North and Weber Street West, around 1:47 a.m. Sunday.

The cause of the fire has not been determined as of Monday morning. Crews believe the blaze started on the covered porch of the home.

Everyone was able to evacuate safely, with four fire crews called to the scene.

Damage is estimated at around $400,000.

The Ontario Fire Marshal and Waterloo Regional Police Service are not involved with the fire investigation.
