Serial shoplifting suspect in Kitchener arrested and charged

After seeking one suspect for at least six alleged shoplifting thefts in Kitchener, police have made an arrest.

Investigators with the Waterloo Regional Police Service had been looking into a string of retail thefts from last November through March of this year.

They said the same suspect stole merchandise on at least six separate occasions. Security cameras images of a woman were sent out by police.

They announced this morning that a 61-year-old woman has been arrested.

She’s facing eight counts of theft under $5,000.

A statement from police thanks everyone from the public who helped in this investigation.
