Kitchener Rangers begin playoffs with series against Saginaw

The road to the cup begins tonight at the Kitchener Memorial Auditorium.

Kitchener Rangers fans are strapping in for what should be a long playoff run for the first placed rangers starting on Friday with a first round series against the Saginaw Spirit.

The Spirit were easy prey for the Blueshirts throughout the regular season, as the Rangers came out on top in all four meetings between the two sides.

Saginaw forward Nikita Klepov led the OHL in points this year with 97, an incredible feat for a rookie.

Expect the rangers to be led by forward Sam O’Reilly, who was a force in march leading up to the playoffs. The Tampa Bay Lightning prospect put up 19 points in just 8 games in March.

Game two will also happen at The Aud this Sunday before the series shifts to Saginaw on Tuesday.
