‘Rural roads are not racetracks,’ driver charged in speed check on Line 86

Waterloo Regional Police Service (WRPS) say that “rural roads are not racetracks.”

This past weekend, a young driver was hit with speeding and stunt driving charges after police said he was going 139 km/h on Line 86.

That stretch of roadway is an 80 km/h zone.

“Speeding and aggressive driving remain the most dangerous behaviours on local roads and contributed to several fatal collisions last year,” read a release from WRPS.

The 22-year-old was pulled over and charged.
