Federal offender with local ties apprehended in Simcoe

OPP have provided an update in the search for a federal offender, reported to be unlawfully at large since April 25.

The Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement (R.O.P.E.) Squad had previously indicated they were searching for a 45-year-old man for breaching his statutory release.

Edward Seery was on the run from officers who say he is serving a three-year sentence for possession of Schedule I and II substance for the purpose of trafficking.

At the time, police shared that Seery has been known to frequent several areas including Simcoe, Hamilton, London and Cambridge.

An update shared by OPP on Tuesday said that Seery had since been apprehended in Simcoe, located and arrested by members of the Norfolk Detachment of the OPP.
