Rangers earn 2,000th win in franchise history in face-off with Frontenacs

It was a milestone night for the Kitchener Rangers, as the East Avenue Blue defeated the Kingston Frontenacs on Friday night to earn their 2,000th win in franchise history.

Neither team was able to score in the first period, despite Kitchener leading the period in shots 12-5. The Rangers broke the game open in the second period with four unanswered goals from four different players: Christian Humphreys, Jack Pridham, Cameron Arquette and Gabriel Chiarot.

Kingston responded with two goals of their own in the third period, including one on the power-play by Alex Misiak, to settle the final score at 4-2.

Jack Pridham took the game’s first star with his three-point night; one goal and two assists. Christian Humphreys and Cameron Arquette took the second and third stars, respectively.

Friday’s win also marks the first time the Rangers have won in Kingston since the 2019-2020 season, and the first for head coach Jussi Ahokas.

With one more game left on their road trip, the Rangers have a date for Valentine’s Day with the Ottawa 67’s in the nation’s capital.
