The East Avenue Blue are back on East Avenue Monday night, coming home from a tough weekend in London.
The London Knights, who have yet to lose this post-season, took Games 1 and 2 with 5-2 and 6-2 finals.
In Sunday’s match-up, the Kitchener Rangers were able to tie the game 2-2 but weren’t able to find the back of the net again, as the Knights went on to win 6-2.
The Knights are 10-0 this post-season, sweeping both Owen Sound and Erie.
570 NewsRadio Colour Commentator Paul Fixter said this series is far from over, as Monday night the Rangers will have home ice advantage on their side.
“They have to hold serve, just like London did at home. London won their two games at home, now it’s Kitchener’s turn to start to chip away and win their home games and make it a best of three.”
Fixter said one of the Blueshirts to keep an eye on Monday night will be Luca Romano.
“He scored two goals in Game 1 and got a nice powerplay goal in Game 2. Kitchener had been struggling on the powerplay so nice to see him step up and get a goal. He is showcasing himself for the NHL draft, has played some really good hockey here and has been really impressive.”
Monday’s playoff action can be heard live on 570 NewsRadio starting at 6:30 p.m.
570 NewsRadio Special Election Night coverage will begin following the post-game show.
