Regional Staff is going to study operating speeds and collisions history in about 100 schools on region roads. They will report back in October with options that could include changes. The study was requested by Wilmot Council – and backed by parents who wrote a full letter of support – they want to see limits changed from 50 to 40 KM/hour. There’s a disconnect because some schools are on Regional roads/some city/and some Township. Regional Councillor Tom Galloway says traffic needs to be looked at by all schools – as you can’t give just one special treatment.

BlackBerry’s latest device – the Leap – launches today. It’s a lower-priced phone for consumers who want a touchscreen, but don’t want to pay the hefty price of an iPhone or Samsung Galaxy device. It’s the first touchscreen phone from the company since it launched the Z30 more than a year and a half ago. Since then, BlackBerry has focused on releasing models with a keyboard, like the Passport and Classic, as they’ve proven to be more popular with the company’s business-centric customers. Features on the Leap include a 25-hour battery life and an eight-megapixel camera. The company says wireless carriers will offer BlackBerry Leap for free when users sign a two-year contract, or it can be purchased without a contract for $349.
