Police make 2 arrests after targeted, armed assault in North Dumfries

Police have arrested two people after an armed, targeted assault in North Dumfries.

The Waterloo Regional Police Service (WRPS) was called Sunday shortly after 10:30 a.m. to investigate a reported disturbance in the John Carpenter Rd. and Robert Woolner St. area of Ayr.

A victim sustained minor injuries after they were allegedly assaulted by a male and a female who were armed with an edged weapon.

Investigators learned the attack was targeted as the two suspects and the victim know each other.

Officers arrested a 23-year-old Burlington man and 43-year-old Burlington woman.

Police say their investigation into the incident is ongoing.
