Rangers fall in overtime

Jeremy Morin scored his 25th goal of the season with less than five minutes to play to help the Rangers earn a point but they still fell short in overtime last night. Niagara’s Alex Friesen scored 14 seconds into extra time to give the Ice Dogs a 5-4 win.

Kitchener opened the scoring just 15 seconds into the game when Jeff Skinner scored his league-leading 35th goal of the season but the Ice Dogs would grab the lead before the end of the first and the Rangers were playing catch-up hockey for the rest of the night.

The single point gives Kitchener a one-point lead over London in the Midwest Division standings but the Knights have two games in hand. The Rangers return home tonight to play the Mississauga-St. Mike’s Majors. Game time is 7 PM on 570 News.
