Security guard assaulted after asking man to leave business

A 26-year-old man from Kitchener was arrested by Waterloo Regional Police after officials say he assaulted a security guard in a Waterloo business.
The incident happened on Aug. 28, just before 2:20 p.m., with police arriving shortly after in the King Street South and Willis Way area.
Responding to reports of an assault in a business, police learned that a security guard had asked the man to walk out of the business numerous times. However, officials say the man refused to leave. Adding that the suspect then assaulted the security guard, hitting them multiple times before he eventually left.
When officers arrived, they say they were able to locate the suspect. Arresting him not far from where the assault happened.
Through their investigation, the Waterloo Police have charged the 26-year-old man from Kitchener with assault and resisting arrest.
