Cloudy skies, warm temperatures expected for weekend forecast

As summer concludes and fall inches closer, warm temperatures are not expected to subside for a rainy weekend ahead in Waterloo Region.
According to Environment Canada, Saturday will be a fairly static day of weather. The forecast anticipates a mix of sun and cloud throughout the afternoon with a 25 degree daily high temperature feeling like 29 with the humidex. The afternoon could see gusts up to 50 kilometres per hour, with winds dying down sometime in the early evening.
Overnight, forecasted temperatures are expected to drop to 17 degrees, with the skies becoming overcast overnight.
Those clouds will carry over to Sunday morning, where the temperature will begin to climb back to the day’s high of 25 degrees. Sunday is expected to be more humid, with humidex highs expected to cross the 30 degree threshold by the afternoon. Late Sunday morning will see a projected 60 percent chance of showers to coincide with winds gusting to 40 kilometres per hour around noon.
The chance of showers will continue through the afternoon into the evening, alongside the overcast skies of the morning. The projected overnight temperature will be 18 degrees.
Environment Canada projects UV levels to fluctuate through the weekend, with Saturday projected to hit a UV index rating of 7 or “high” on the scale.
Sunday is projected to top out at a rating of 5 or “moderate” on the Environment Canada Scale.
