25-year-old charged with sexual assaults in University District

Officials laid charges after one street in the university district of Waterloo was the scene of multiple incidents.

According to police, two sexual assaults with the same suspect were reported.

In connection with the case, officers laid charges against a 25-year-old, including two counts of sexual assault and one count of an indecent act.

He was held in custody for a bail hearing.

Investigators from the Waterloo regional police service have sent out an image of a person wanted in connection with Tuesday’s incidents on Bricker Avenue.

Police said it began around 2:30 p.m., when an unidentified man was spotted looking into a residential window. Soon after, the same man was seen committing an indecent act on Bricker, the release notes.

And shortly after 3:00 p.m., a victim on the sidewalk on Bricker was sexually assaulted by the same suspect.

Officers will be on that street and in the neighbourhood Wednesday, canvassing for witnesses and any video footage of this male.
