Police investigate sexual assault in Waterloo

Police are investigating a reported sexual assault in Waterloo.

The Waterloo Regional Police Service (WRPS) was called Sunday night after a woman said she was followed home by an unknown male suspect, who sexually assaulted her outside of her residence.

The incident was reported in the Hickory Street and Regina Street area of the city, around 7:40 p.m.

Police said there were no physical injuries resulting from the incident.

Investigators continued to canvass the area on Monday, seeking relevant video footage.
