Speeders beware, you'll have to prepare for some changes in school zones this year.
And if you're not prepared, you could find yourself with a speeding ticket without interacting with a police officer.
Waterloo city council passed a couple motions Monday, with one looking at the region's photo radar project, set to be up and running by the end of the year.
Waterloo has chosen Keats Way Drive, in front of Keatsway Public School, as a location to put a camera for the initial launch.
Meantime, several streets around 11 different schools will see speed limits reduced to 40 km/h.
The schools listed are:
- Mary Johnston Public School
- Edna Staebler Public School
- Vista Hills Public School
- Laurelwood Public School
- Cedarbrae Public School
- Lexington Public School
- St. Agnes Catholic School
- St. Matthew Catholic School
- Centennial Public School
- Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School
- Empire Public School
