Pedestrian killed in Hwy. 6 crash through Guelph

One person is dead after a crash on Highway 6 through Guelph Sunday night.

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) said a pedestrian was killed in the crash that involved multiple vehicles.

Shortly after midnight, Highway 6 between Stone Road West and Kortright Road West was closed. It remained closed during most of the Monday morning commute for the investigation.

“A pedestrian involved in the collision suffered life-threatening injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene,” read an OPP release.

“There were no other reported injuries.”

Police reopened Highway 6 shortly after 7:30 a.m. Monday.

Anyone with information is asked to reach out to police.
