Guelph child charged with robbery, possession of weapon

A 12-year-old in Guelph is facing charges after police said he was involved in two separate robbery investigations.
Friday night in the north end of the city, police said a 14-year-old boy who knows the suspect was punched and threatened with bear spray before his sweater was reportedly stolen.
Police were called around 8 p.m. for the incident.
A few hours later, at 1:30 a.m Saturday, police were called again to a business in the York Road and Ontario Street area.
The same suspect allegedly sprayed an employee in the face with bear spray before taking candy and running away.
He was later arrested nearby.
Police said a 12-year-old is boy facing two counts of robbery, possessing weapons for a dangerous purpose and breaching a release order.
