Skateboarder seriously injured in Kitchener crash

A skateboarder was seriously hurt following a crash in Kitchener.

At 10:40 a.m., police responded to a reported collision in the Bridge Street West and Woolwich Street area.

Police said a 28-year-old was on a skateboard when they were struck by an SUV travelling west on Bridge Street. The male were transported to an out-of-region hospital with serious injuries.

The closure for the investigation was in place for two hours.

Officials are asking anyone who witnessed the incident to speak to police or call 519-570-9777, extension 8856.
