Kitchener crash leaves woman with serious injuries

A pedestrian is recovering in hospital after being struck by a vehicle in Kitchener.

It happened at the height of rush hour Thursday afternoon around Courtland Avenue East and Hayward Avenue not far from the Highway 7/8 ramps.

Waterloo Regional Police say a 36-year-old woman was struck by a pick-up truck.

They say she suffered serious but non-life threatening injuries, and was taken a hospital in Waterloo Region.

Police had the intersection closed for approximately three hours for the investigation which included sending up the police drone for photographic evidence.

Officers have given no word on if charges are expected.

Police have asked for any and all witnesses to please get in touch.
