Waterloo regional police is investigating a serious collision that took place in Cambridge just after midnight Saturday.

Emergency services were called to reports of a pedestrian being struck by a black KIA vehicle while crossing Hespeler Road near Langs Drive.

The driver of the KIA, a 26-year-old female, did not sustain any physical injuries, but the pedestrian was taken to an out-of-region hospital with serious injuries.

The southbound lanes of Hespeler Road were closed between Pinebush Road and Langs Drive for several hours for the investigation and have since reopened.
