GRT fares set to increase this summer due to operation costs

Grand River Transit (GRT) will increase fares as of July 1.

The operation costs, according to GRT, have risen and as a result, fares will increase by an average of 2 per cent.

There will be no changes to cash fares and the discount under the Affordable Transit Program has grown to 50 per cent.

A group pass will be launched for $12 allowing unlimited trips for groups of up to five people of any age, travelling together on any one day.

In addition, the day pass has been reduced to $8.

Fare prices include:

  • Cash Fare – $3.75
  • Single Transfer Ticket – $3.75
  • Children Under 4 – Free
  • EasyGO Stored Value Payment $3
  • Stored Value Payment, Affordable Transit Program – $1.50
  • Corporate Stored Value – $2.55
  • Monthly Pass – $96
  • Monthly Pass, Affordable Transit Program – $48
  • Day pass – $8
  • New Group pass – $12
