McCrae House kicks off a week of remembrance

Guelph Museums is set to kick off a week of remembrance events at McCrae House, the birthplace of Guelph-born doctor, soldier, and poet John McCrae leading up to next Remembrance Day.
On Sunday, things kick off when vistors will have the opportunuity to speak with local veterans and them them for their service, including two Second World War veterans.
Val Harrison, Supervisor of Visitor Experiences at Guelph Museum says its a rare opportunity to take in history.
“In their 90s, which is pretty amazing to have stories from them. So it is Dorthy Scott, who served in England, and Earl Setter who is a Second World War vet so they will be able to tell stories.”
Throughout the week, the museum will also hold a number of educational events for students called The First World War Remembered.
The week wraps up next Saturday with a Remembrance Day service at McCrae Memorial Gardens starting at 9 a.m.
