Snowfall warning issued for Tuesday/Wednesday

Waterloo Region and surrounding areas are now under a snowfall warning for Tuesday and Wednesday.
It had previously been listed as a winter storm watch.
Environment Canada says a low pressure system developing over Texas on Monday will head towards the lower Great Lakes.
The weather agency says there’s the potential for between 15 to 30 cm of heavy snow in some areas.
Freezing rain and ice pellets may also be associated with the system.
Senior Climatologist with Environment Canada Dave Phillips says it could be a messy drive when it hits Tuesday and through to Wednesday morning.
“Last week Waterloo Region had rain, snow and freezing rain so it was a messy situation. This might just be snow your are getting rid of but clearly it will be cause for concern.”
570’s Weather Specialist John Wilson is calling for up to 15 cm of snow on Tuesday night.
