David Thomas found guilty of second-degree murder

Waterloo man David Thomas has been found guilty of second-degree murder in the death of his girlfriend – Denise Bourdeau.Thomas faces a life sentence after the jury found beyond a reasonable doubt that he killed 39-year-old Bourdeau back on New Years Day in 2007.

Bourdeau was last seen leaving a Waterloo bar with Thomas on New Year’s Day in 2007.

Her decomposed body turned up almost four months later on the banks of the river behind houses in south Kitchener.

During the trial, reports say that Thomas was portrayed as a controlling man who physically and emotionally abused Bourdeau.

Thomas will be eligibile for parole in at least 10 years.
