Supreme Court senate decision due before 10am

Prime Minister Harper’s plans to reform the Senate could be helped or shot down today by the Supreme Court of Canada.

The high court will hand down an opinion on what it feels must be done to reform the Red Chamber, or even abolish it.

The court might say reform would mean the constitution would have to be amended.

That would be a political dead end because Harper has rejected re-opening constitutional talks.
