They’ve been talking about it for a while.

Today at noon, ground will officially be broken on a new central branch for the Kitchener Public Library on Queen Street.

The 40 million dollar project should be complete by December 2012.

It will be done in two phases, with the first being the parking garage.

The Kitchener Public Library Board will also be launching a fundraising campaign to raise 500 thousand dollars to put towards the project.

The current building has been in place since 1962.
