Body found, autopsy today

TORONTO – An autopsy is scheduled for today on human remains found north of Toronto over the weekend.

The results will determine if the remains are those of a 42-year-old Orangeville, Ontario woman missing for more than a week.

Sonia Varaschin’s family alerted police when she failed to show up for work at a pharmaceutical company last Monday.

That same day, her blood-stained car was found in an alley and police found blood inside and outside her home.

The remains were found in a wooded area off a rural sideroad about 12 kilometres from her home by someone walking a dog.

Police spent the long weekend scouring the site for evidence.
